Canada LMIA
Employer's Guide

Labour Market Impact Assessment (LMIA)

We help Canadian employers hire international talent to fill local staff shortages. This is the main way to hire workers from outside Canada.

Canada LMIA Interview

"We simplify the path for Canadian employers to access global talent."

What is an
LMIA?

An LMIA is a document that an employer in Canada may need to get before hiring a foreign worker. We handle all the government rules and paperwork to help you get a positive result.

A Positive LMIA

It is a letter that proves an employer needs a foreign worker because no Canadian worker is available.

The Outcome

Once an employer gets the LMIA, the worker can apply for a Closed Work Permit or use the offer to support a Permanent Residence application.

For Employers: Corporate Services

The LMIA process can be strict. We manage every step to make sure you follow all the rules.

Application Types

We help you choose the right application type for your business.

  • High-Wage: For jobs paying the median wage or more
  • Low-Wage: For jobs paying less than the median wage
  • Global Talent Stream: Fast 2-week processing for tech jobs
  • PR Support: Helps with Express Entry points

Hiring Rules

You must show that you tried to hire a Canadian first.

  • Writing correct job descriptions
  • Posting the job on Job Bank & other sites
  • Tracking interview results
  • Running ads for the required time

Employer Responsibilities

The government checks that you follow labor laws.

  • Preparing for government reviews
  • Paying fair wages and providing safe work
  • Meeting safety requirements
  • Keeping good records

For Workers: How an LMIA Helps You

A valid job offer with an LMIA is a great way to move to Canada.

Work Permit (Closed)

With a positive LMIA, you can get a work permit for a specific employer. This lets you live and earn money in Canada.

  • Gain Canadian Work Experience
  • Establish yourself in Canada

Express Entry Points

An LMIA job offer gives you extra points for Express Entry, making it much easier to get invited for Permanent Residence.

Intra-Company Transfers

Moving managers or specialized workers to a Canadian office.

International Agreements

Agreements with countries like the US, Mexico, and Europe that make hiring easier.

Francophone Mobility

Important Ethical Warning

We prioritize Real Jobs. Paying for a job offer just to immigrate is illegal.

For Employers: We only work with real employers who actually need staff.
For Workers: We check that job offers are real. Using a fake job offer can get you banned from Canada for 5 years.
